Caribbean Ministry

Caribbean Ministries is an outreach overseas ministry of Episcopal laypersons and clergy, established in July 1988 and affiliated with Grace Episcopal Church, White Plains, New York.  With the approval of the Archbishop of the West Indies, we act as facilitator for the Bishops of the Anglican Province. We identify, orient and connect Episcopal Priests, active and retired, with parishes seeking an Interim Priest. Typically, the duration of an assignment for an Interim Priest is from one month to two years.

In addition to our involvement with the placement of Interim Priests, the Caribbean Ministries have worked with several churches, foundations, the New York Alter Guild, the Church Publishing Company, private companies and individuals to help fund and/or provide supplies for many projects. A partial list includes:

  • Hurricane relief for damaged churches
  • Providing equipment for a new nursery school in Anquilla and the training of its teachers.
  • Donated books and other equipment for Codrington (Seminary) College in Barbados.
  • Partnered with St. Barnabas in St. Elisabeth Jamaica, Food for the Poor, the Bickford Foundation, and St. Peters in Peekskill New York and established lunch programs for three, church operated schools and the home bound elderly.
  • Partnered with several churches and individuals to assist in the completion of a multi-purpose, outreach center at Holy Trinity Church in Jamaica.

The organization operates on a very small budget; however, by the Grace of God and the ability to focus the energy and generosity of many, we have been able assist many parishes of the Anglican Church in the West Indies.
